Cabinet system by the ocean/intercoastal - corrosion?

Looking into a cabinet system (full wall cabinets, tool boxes/bench top, upper cabinets) for my garage. I'm surrounded by saltwater and everything rusts here. Does anyone coastal have time on their steel cabinets and can chime in on how they are holding up corrosion wise? Right now I am thinking about the Proslat Fusion series as they are powder coated. The aluminum Modulines would be great but too expensive for me. Thanks!

Well... I'm 800 feet from the inlet to the Atlantic... my main wall stuff is solid wood. All my metal boxes have surface rust low to the ground. If they get bad... I sand, prime and paint.

For what it's worth... every spring i go around my house outside with a can of Benjamin Moore Aluminum paint... it's super thin and flows into all the nooks and crannies. I touch up anything metal. I go back the following week and do appropriate colors.

At the ocean ... some metal doesn't rust... it evaporates if you don't stay on it.

I hope I explained myself well. You won't find anything that will be maintenance FREE. Unless it's solid wood. Press board and most plywood don't work either in the long run.

Powder coat will last longer, it will succumb to the salt air. (It is common for people to place laundry equipment in a shed/garage in the SE. Ask them how long the baked enamel finish holds up.)

Aluminum or stainless steel.
