My ten or so year old pair of craftsman cable hose clamp pliers just aren't cutting it anymore. What's the best bang for the buck out there these days?

The Knipex are nice especially on the larger round clamp rings but they don't fit in a lot of places the cable ones do.
I too have the Astro ones .

You really need both, the Astro’s and the Knipex. I’ve had to use both of mine while working on my Audi. Best to be prepared!

I highly recommend these newer Knipex locking pliers over the older model. They lock in place and can also still swivel - if needed.

I have several (OTC, Astro, Gearwrench and Mayhew), but seem to prefer the Mayhew brand personally.

No love for the remote style pliers? You'd have to pry mine away from me. They really do fit anywhere and sure they're a bit slower than standard pliers, you can also just clamp them down and move them well out of the way while you struggle to get things to come apart.

I love Knipex but the Cobra hose clamp pliers never appealed to me. I prefer to have pliers in line with the direction the clamp will slide. Seems like the Cobra pliers would get in the way in many cases?

Ordered the astro cable pliers this morning. Going to pick up some other clamp pliers linked above but havent decided on the duck bill type or the knipex ones. Thanks for all the advice.

The astro cable pliers showed up today and they sure are a lot nicer then my old craftsmans. Now just need to make up my mind on what other clamp pliers I want to pick up to go along with them.
