What a bunch of Nancy's. I'm sure the OP didn't ask for a mommie knows best babysitter, an ethics lesson or the tactics of your local tax and harass officials, just a guess on the value on a piece of cable. Why can't anyone answer a simple question without pontificating about scorching life on earth as we know it or some BS story about a neighbour that had a pig that turned out to be a chicken,but after all was a giraffe?

Guys, I get it, and it’s all good. I am an operations manager, well into 6 figure income in the industrial boiler industry. This cable being so large, and almost 100’ of it was the only reason I even bothered with it.

I posted it up for sale on line as a “whole cable” purchase. The scumbags came out of the woodwork, so I took the posting down. Wasn’t about to have them come look at it at my shop, only to have them come back another time to steal it...lol.

Gonna cut it up into 20’ lengths, store it upstairs in my shop, wait for a need, or copper prices jump and makes it worth my time to scrap it.

and how does that deter criminals? criminals dont care about laws or police investigations. theyre gonna commit their crimes anyways

Because they will find some that do need more investigation and those that need to be thrown in jail you wont find them unless you actually look. Ignoring the issue certainly isn't going to work.
