Hello All

My renewal fee is coming due for my Solidworks Software the end of September. I am offering Mechanical Design Services using Solidworks Software, to raise money to renew my software. So if you have an idea that you need designed or CAD files made, please don't hesitate to contact me.

I'm not to sure, and believe me, I understand why you are wanting to raise money, but I'm fairly certain this thread will get kicked to the curb, for soliciting online. Just like the flooring vendors, they don't advertise on the forum, but they do help out with problems, and all advertising or soliciting is done by PM.

Like I said, don't take it the wrong way, but doing online soliciting is sort of frowned on by 99% of the members.

You may reword things so it is not so blatant as to your intentions. Maybe in some way to explain to people as to what you do and possibly explain that if they need some Solidwork services to get in touch with you by PM, or by an e-mail addy in your profile page.

I feel your pain brother......keys or seats aren't the cheapest thing going today

About the only place to advertise would be the front page, and that all has to go through Ryan, the Admin, Owner & Grand Puba.

It understandable as this site gets a lot of attention and a lot of traffic, but pushing your wares is a whole new ballgame. I do know that some people that participate in a lot of garage chatter also sell garage related items, and they do have an ad for their business in their Signature.

My advice, send a PM to Ryan, explain the situation, and it may end up being something that you would have to help out others full time as far as money, and not to just get enough money for a renewal, and see what Ryan says. Ryan's a good guy, but when he lays down rules, the rules are for everyone. So myself......I really don't know how the rules are when it comes to that, only he would be able to tell you.

And Ryan, like I said is a good guy, he will tell you what the rules are as far as that goes. Some of the Mods may, well you can ask the Mods, they will know how that goes also. Ask Nutts GT, Bull, Simon, and ask A_Pmech.......send a PM to anyone of them and they should be able to advise you of how that works.

I just don't want to see you get into trouble, or flames start heading your way because of a common misunderstanding.
