Last weekend I broke one of my craftsman sockets, a 16mm 6point deep well and have been looking to get it warrantied but I have no luck finding a replacement. I have visited all the ace hardware's in my area but they only have 12 point's and my only sears has a single 6 point but is Chinese and looks like junk. anyone have any suggestions for finding a us made one.

ebay or classifieds here. They don't make them anymore. The warranty says nothing about the replacement being USA made so you're unfortunately SOL.

eBay would be your best bet.

If it were me and I had to buy another one, I would just go another brand like SK, Mac, Snap-on....

Its sad that when you buy the deal is LIFETIME WARRANTY, but when you need to use the warranty the replacement is cheaper then the original broken one.

Took the words right out of my mouth. There are a ton of new old stock Proto flooding eBay right now for dirt cheap. Buy a complete deep metric set and save the Craftsman sockets for backups or beaters.

Not sure what drive size you need, but heres an example of these killer deals

Also, check Cripedistributing for individual USA made sockets by KD, Allen, Kobalt and Armstrong. Remember to email them to check shipping charges before you pay as they can usually do better. I've purchased quite a few individual sockets from Cripe at a dollar and change each. http://www.cripedistributing.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=16mm+deep

It is a 3/8 drive polski, if you have one I am interested. and also to clarify part of what I was asking was for any advice on locating heritage stock at sears. I was already aware all the new tools came from china.

it is older the model is 44433 and the manufacturer's code on it is G, I believe it is Easco made. it has vertical lines around the top like the picture I attached unlike around the bottom on most. the only difference between mine and the one in the picture is the stamping for millimeters on mine is mm as opposed to m/m in the picture.

Seems like a fairly common socket. Keep an eye on eBay. I'll bet you'll find one there for sure.

I have a -G- 44433, no lines along the top of the socket though.

You're welcome to have it, PM me your address if you want it.
