Calibrate a torque wrench

Makes perfect sense. I would probably modify it though to use metal ballast instead of a water jug

I've had mine calibrated before, but it's been a while. The plaec i used to work at had a torque wrench calibrator, but now i don't work there anymore, and paying someone to do it is fairly expensive. Maybe i'll have to build something like that.

Calibrating torque wrenches

Know any aircraft mechanics? (A&P.s). They will know where to get calibrations done, makes no difference if it.s their own tools or company owned tools. FAA recquires yearly calibration on everything from torque wrenches to tire gauges, ( yes even co ax crimpers and VOM meters.) Check it out.

Which part, exactly? Makes sense to me and just short of being a mechanical engineer or geometry/trig Professor the layman's way of building a test setup seems sound..... Just curious as to which part is stupid.

The whole thing is stupid. If you want yours calibrated, then send it out to have it done. That's all.

That looks like a great idea.
Maybe you'll still need to send it out to be calibrated if you find its out of adjustment, but measuring feet and pounds is grade- school math, not rocket science.
