Calibrating Sperry DM5300 Meter

I have a few meters, but my Sperry DM5300 is .5 volts off, anyway of calibrating this?

Page 18 of the owner's manual describes the calibration procedure: http://assets.tequipment.net/assets/1/26/Documents/Sperry/dm5300_manual.pdf You need a calibrated DC power source.

Yep, adjust the pot, as Stuart mentioned you really SHOULD be using a calibrated source. When you are done check it at different voltages against a better meter for sanity.

It's very unusual for a DMM to "go out" for no reason. Before messing with that adjustment you should install a fresh battery, clean the battery contacts & lead sockets with swabs & iso alcohol. Rotate the selector switch stop to stop several times. Tap the meter on the table while monitoring a voltage reading to see if the display changes due to loose internal wire, pcb connection or crack.
If after all that it's still off, then adjust it--but first go stop-to-stop a few times on that adjustment pot too in case oxidation has crept in.

What are you checking it against? .5 out throughout the range? Too many questions without the proper equipment... just leave it.

I am checking it against 2 other meters, on the DC volt side, -.5 volts

I did put a fresh 9v battery in it, and there is no corrosion on the inside of the meter

I do not have a calibrated DC power source.
