Anyone have any experience with them?

They appear to be pretty solid. I'm not using air tools, so mainly for compressed air, mounting tires here and there on bikes, motorcycles, etc. Not huge amounts of use.

I like the low noise - every compressor I've used has been nasty-loud. I'm not sure of it being 110v over 220v, but many compressors nowadays seem to be 110.

Any input appreciated.

Thanks.

Used one working a few years ago that belonged to the company. They were very pleased with it, and it was great for running the roofing nailer I was using. I would buy one in a heartbeat if I could afford it. Theirs was marketed as a gmc syclone, but my understanding is they are the same.

I'll be buying one of the 1.6gal, 1hp super-quiet ones in about 2 weeks. We're putting in hardwood floors and I don't fancy dragging my 60 gallon one up and down the stairs

These rarely, if ever, come up on CL as they are snapped up quick.

Year ago a 10 gal 2 HP came up for $275 that was dental trade show demo. I was a day short in getting that one.

At 70 db they are very quiet, and quality reliable model given fact that they are oil-less.

Hopefully some actual GJ owners of these can chime in with actual experience.

Rolair also makes some quiet air compressors. Some models are even oil type.

I just ordered one and will let you know how it goes. The model 4620A was on sale for 329.00 plus free shipping. After ordering it online you can go into the store and have them apply a 10% discount coupon if you have one laying around. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Californ...k-Air-Compressor-4620A/202977405#.UbqVWZQo41J

What really has me interested from them is their quiet box. I already emailed them asking if the compressor would fit and they insured me it would. Kind of want to see what the price is first before ordering. They are claiming 20 decibels quieter. http://www.californiaairtools.com/sound-proof-cabinets/

Thanks for the info. Man these are so quiet already, with the box I wouldn't even know when it's running! :)

So I received my 4620A today and Wow is all I can say. I have a Craftsman 33 Gal Oil-Less Compressor and I would walk out of the garage to get away. You can easily be in the garage sitting on top of it and carry on a conversation with the California Tool Compressor.

From 0 to 125psi takes about 50 seconds. It jumps to 30 psi in a few seconds.

From 90-125psi I timed it at 20 seconds. So I hooked up a blow gun and set the pressure to 125. Squeezed the handle and let the compressor kick on. It was able to maintain and slowly gain back on the pressure. The Craftsman Compressor could never do that.

If this compressor is able to last 5+ years I will say it is a great buy.

The only thing that I don't really care for and it will perform perfectly fine. They use hose clamps to mount the tanks to the frames. It would have been nice to see a more refined solution.
