It's also 245$ on Amazon if that's more convenient for some people. That's a great price though. That's the one I really wanted when I got my 5510SE. I wonder how long the price will last. I get a big bonus in March.

I'm sure it's legit. I bought mine for the exact same price roughly 6 months ago. It was a "Special Buy of the Day" then as well.

Those are not boxed well and UPS is not very "gentle" with them. I got a different model at less than 50% of retail because it was damaged and the box was so torn up it could not be reused for a return.

The small 1 HP California Air Tool compressor that I got a few months ago had packing that was most impressive, then they put the factory box into another box to ship it in.

Does anyone know the difference between the 10020 vs. 10020C??

I believe they both have the same CFM and PSI ratings but one is lighter and quieter. I believe the lighter one is taller but with a smaller footprint.

I found it easiest to compare the specs on the company website instead of Amazon or Home Depot.

We shall have another data point tomorrow. Mine is scheduled for delivery.

Perhaps one is the self draining model.

The self draining one's part number ends with AD so 1020CAD.

Only problem is I'm not... Still a few more hours till I can come home and check it out. Box looks ok from here at least. My GF said it's too heavy for her to move into the house so outside it sits.

It looks like mine! Except mine is out of the box and put together. It was in great shape when we t got here. I found one random screw and I’ll figure that out later. It runs great and is supers quiet. Real happy with the deal I got.

Mine arrived with the outside box undamaged as well. I haven't had time to unpack yet.

Thanks firworks! I grabbed one from Amazon since Home Depot doesn't like online purchases from us Canadians. I picked it up today - awesome little unit. It's soooo quiet!

Cheers,
Ian

If I had the option of buying from hd or Amazon, I would too with hd. Can get delivered to store and this likely means that it came on a pallet. Amazon means shipping and the packages can often get tossed around hard. If there's a problem, roll into hd within 90 days for no questions asked return. After 90 the manager might be needed. My 2 cents.

Good points, all around but you can't buy anything from HD online with a Canadian credit card. We really don't have an option in terms of HD vs Amazon.

FWIW, the compressor was well packed and showed up with no damage at all.

I've had the 10020C for about a month, it's amazingly quiet.

Not just in overall loudness, but the sound is not as "screechy"...but rather just a low hum.

HD shipped me a mini-fridge instead of the CAT compressor, got it sorted it out and received a discount for my trouble.

This is my first compressor so I don't have a real comparison but it seems slightly under-built and chintzy. It IS quiet, not as quiet as the video shows, it's whisper quiet in the video.

Mines leaked air outta the box, tightened up one of the hoses but there is still a slow overnight 5 psi pressure loss. Tubular bars on top are small, a chunk of the cheap rubber wheel got sliced off. It was double-boxed and nicely packaged though, not sure I'll keep it at $200.

Got a chance to unpack and assemble mine today. It was double-boxed from the factory (the outer box had shipping info from California Air Tools to Amazon's warehouse). The packing was very well done--obvious thought was given to making it survive UPS.

Fired it up without installing the mufflers first, and was shocked at how loud it was. My wife walked into the garage at that point and said "I thought that was supposed to be the quiet one!". It's way quieter with the mufflers.

I had a small leak in one of the brass fitting on my small compressor from CAT. Call them Monday morning, In my case, they were nothing but great to work with. You may have a new compressor on the road headed your way come Monday afternoon!

I don't know if it is still true, but CAT used to use a pipe sealant that dried hard like epoxy. I destroyed more that one brass fitting trying to remove them.

Heat from a standard propane torch is adequate to to release this sealant.

Yes, they still do. In my case, the issue ended up being a small crack in the actual fitting not the threaded connection. I was scared to try to fix it without asking but they gave me the thumbs up to go ahead and the same guidance you offered to try to fix it but to no avail as it was the fitting not the threads. I called the same guy back, put the unit back in the double box and as soon as it was logged into the UPS tracking system, the replacement left the factory headed to me. I am not sure how it left the factory with a leak one could hear BUT I wish all companies had support as good as my experience with this. He didn't want to send just the fitting, he wanted to send a whole new unit! Even though I purchased through Amazon, both units were shipped from the distributor in CA and the injured one went back there too.

Thanks for the suggestion, the guy I spoke with said overnight pressure loss was normal and these are not intended to be pressurized overnight. Basically saying "That's how it works buddy."

I was just leak testing, as a diy homeowner I might use this unit a few times a year but I'd like to know if it's reliable 3-6 months down the road when I need it.
