Didn't find anything on search, just wondering if anyone has any experience with their air compressors?

After 16 years, my little cheapie chinese Cman is getting long-in-the-tooth, plus one of the feet are bent so it spins in circles when running.

Looking for a small portable and since now some are quiet, I've seen some videos to where the CAT models can barely hear them run.

The model I'm considering.

Thanks

If it still runs well why not just straighten out the foot ?

If you sell it use the “spins in circles “ as a self coiling air hose feature.

I've had one of the CAT compressors for a few years and never had any issues. Not the one you linked though...don't remember the model.

It's quiet. Not inaudible but quiet. Can be standing right next to it having a normal conversation. I use it for smaller jobs where I don't need the big compressor. Topping of tires, Brad nailer, ect

I've had the CAT 4610A for a few years and it's been great. They're considerably quieter than others if the same size.

I'm half-deaf with tinnitus and I'm ready to spoil myself.

Plus the Cman has a small air leak, so it's constantly cycling :(

I've seen CAT compressors mentioned many times hereabouts, always in very positive terms.

So in this picky bunch, I'd consider that a pretty good endorsement.

If that compressor fits your air requirement, I would say go for it...

or If you wanted to fix that craftsman...

My 33 gallon craftsman had a leak, and couldn't find it anywhere externally... ended up taking out the check valve... the valve that enters the tank... and run it through a lot of cycle of the ultrasonic cleaner and now it is a lot better instead of pressure leaking down in a few hours, it's a few days. Maybe worth a check.

CAT gets the thumbs up from me. Another brand to consider is Fortress from Harbor freight, they seem to be very nice units and possibly even a step up from CAT.

I've had my CAT 2HP 15 gallon compressor for two years. I don't have heavy air needs and its very quiet which I appreciate.

No issues.

I'm going to be the dissenting vote for CAT here. I bought a refurb from their ebay store. I used it professionally in my remodeling business. However, I didn't use it daily. I (and my clients) appreciate the low noise. One watch out with the CAT compressors is the max pressure/cut in. It's really too low to effectively use with nail guns.

Unfortunately, after about a year and a half, the motor would stall when it reached about 90 psi or so. I first cleaned, then replaced the check valve per some diagnostics I found online. Neither helped. I called their "tech support" and they were no help at all. I probably had to replace the whole motor/pump assembly which is nearly the cost of a new compressor + considerable down time.

As a replacement, I ended up going with a Fortress 2 gallon compressor from Harbor Freight. It was a bit of a gamble, but I really like the features versus what else was out there. It is just as quiet as the CAT, but a little higher pressure and still very portable for smaller jobs. I might have gone the Rolair route, but didn't find one near me.
