well then whats the issue?
you get to hold onto the old tools and are given new tools seems pretty generous and good for you

i just ran into this with them. any individual tool that costs less than $X amount for SO to manufacture they consider it "not worth taking back" shipping is usually more than what its worth.

So if you needed those tools RIGHT NOW you would be singing a different tune right?

well sight unseen they went by the closest part number i guess. If they would have had the tool in hand it would have been different. do you have a dealer close by?

Ha.. Okay, Earl..

just called them again for some reason the wrench is being replaced by a s9479a socket its a dodge van/truck ball joint socket? uh ok ? and the order shipped today

Get them to send you the right one.

i just ran into this with them. any individual tool that costs less than $X amount for SO to manufacture they consider it "not worth taking back" shipping is usually more than what its worth.

Your avatar makes me want to puke.

just did some research and the socket is the large one for C bodies and trucks I need the small one for the a,b,e bodies that i work on darn

Again, call them and get them to send the right one.

If I only have 2 flat head screw drivers in my box 30 got stolen

yes snap on but whats to stop a dishonest person from selling the old tools or swapping them with a truck guy?"

In addition to that, what if a person doesnt even own old SO screwdrivers or wrenches, and calls about a warranty. SO going to send free tools?

To all you guys with the "field destroy" responses-

I had GW once say to keep a 1/2" XL wrench when I called to get a replacement. Everything else I have warrantied, the company asked for the broken tool back. Hell I remember a GJ member a week or so ago...had a thread about a waterloo top box that had a small dent in it when it was shipped to him. Waterloo told him the same thing, (field destroy).

You all are just some lucky bastards!

When I called, they referred me to a dealer rather than warrantying thru the mail. How'd you swing it?

I dunno about smooshin them.. Just grind off the snap on name, and use for abusive measures. That way nobody can sell 'em as snapon, but you can whack the **** out of them without having to ruin something you really want.

You don't pay the high snap on price just because its extra special, space plastic; it's the people you're paying for and the service they provide.
