Hi All,

Wondering if anyone can help diagnose a garage door fault. SO i have a Camberlain Model CG42CD 1/2 hp. Issue is the open/close switch is flashing green and does not open the garage door. Checked the sensors and they are fine. There is no lock feature as it just a switch. I believe it the circuit board, can anyone suggest anything else to test prior to purchasing new circuit board.

Thanks

Did you check under the switch cover?

When the garage door opener is in lock mode, the LED light on the door control will constantly flash and the hand held remote controls will not operate your garage door opener. The light bulb on the opener will also flash twice when you attempt to activate the door with your remote. To take the unit out of lock mode, press and hold the lock button for two seconds. Note: lock button may be located under push button cover.

call chamberalin tech support. their troubleshooting help is pretty good.

i spent HOURS on a problem with my unit. After 15 mins on the phone with chamberlain, they diagnosed the problem (control board) and ordered the part. they also had a list of OEM approved repair places to install it.

I had a logic board failure on a newer Chamberlain a few years back and, from my research, it was not uncommon. However, I also had a display panel specifically identifying the issue as such so there was no question.

They were good with troubleshooting and ultimately gave me the parts for free under warranty, but were quick to try and blame the install without any basis at first.

In short - call their support as others have suggested to pinpoint the failure.
