Anyone have experience with this system? I'm redecking right now with 5/4 treated boards and am considering a hidden fastner system to compliment my cedar cable railing. Wondering how this holds up over time in comparison to standard 3" screws?

I used a hidden deck clip system by Simpson. The clips have held up fine.

The problem with 5/4 treated decking is that it's prone to warp. If I were to do it again I'd use 2 by.

I used them on this deck, but that was all composite/decking. They worked great for that, but I'm not sure you be as happy with treated lumber- they hold well, but probably wouldn't resist warping and cupping as well as a traditional screw.

A board that seriously wants to twist can pull out of the clip system. Now what? All of the fasteners are hidden, so you end up needing to remove a bunch of boards to work over to the clips that you need to access. :( They look awesome, but can be a bit problematic if you need to replace a damaged board.

That is true, however Camo is not clip system, its merely a small head fastener with a nice jig that allows you to install the screws along the edge of the boards at an angle. This is the reason why I would doubt their effectiveness in PT wood as I could see the wood just splitting.

The Camo system was a real bonus for the installation of my deck. It too was composite material and I agree with the cautions about treated lumber. The deck has been down for 5 yrs now and looks great.
