Hi GJ,
I am a noob here, but love whats going on, so I had to join!

My wife and I have a small 3 bedroom ranch, a 2 year old boy, and 1 week old daughter. We are in the process of starting an addition on the house(drawings submitted to town, awaiting permits)...

Now for the fun part, I've started work on my backyard motocross mecca which I will also use as my home office since all the rooms are spoken for. No cars will be in here. Just motorcycles.

Step 1- clearing, leveling, moisture barrier, and putting down 4" of stone in a 20x24' pad

Step 2- I ordered an Amish garage (shed)14 x 20 and had it delivered

Step 3- I sealed/painted the floor with the Behr "Deck Over" product.

Thats all Ive been able to do with all the action at home with a 2 year old, and infant. However future plans are to get racedeck flooring, do all my electric wiring, insulate, and sheetrock.

I am looking for suggestions on ventilating the roof, with the intent of having as much overhead space inside the work space. There is a ridge vent, however I am thinking of installing a gable vent on each end, and sheetrocking a foot from the peak. I also think these little channel inserts for in between the roof beams will be a good idea to leave a pocket of air between insulation and the roof itself.

Sorry so long winded, but I am excited and running on minimal sleep!

Danny
