I have come across a Campbell Hausfeld "Iron Force" compressor. I can't find anything on the "Iron Force" line on the web. The specs listed are 7HP, 60 gallon tank, cast iron pump, 220 volts. The price is good. I am waiting on a call back.

Anyone know anything about these things?

I found information indicating that Lowes sold them. Lowes still sells Campbell Hausfeld compressors, but I don't see them using the Iron Force name on the current ones.

7hp is a strange rating. I haven't seen a 7hp motor available. You can buy 5hp motors and 7.5hp motors. Check the motor nameplate and see what the hp rating really is. Once you know the real hp number, you can compare it to other equal compressors and know what it is. Also, what CFM is it rated at? CFM will tell you a lot about the motor and compressor. As an estimate, you can expect 3-3.5 CFM per hp at 100psi. A 7hp motor should be putting out 20-25cfm at 90-100psi. If it isn't doing that much CFM, it must be rated with "Japanese" HP instead of real old fashioned American HP.

Edit:
After more searching, it appears that it might be similar to this model that CH currently sells. If it is similar, it isn't a 7hp compressor. It is a 3hp compressor. The 7hp rating is the ricer rating.

GRRR... it's sold. I spoke to the son last night. "Dad" was to call me back. He didn't. Started calling every hour beginning at 10:00am. Left a message. Kept calling. Finally, the "son" answers at 3:00pm. I tell him I'm calling back about the compressor, and that dad never called me back. He says, sorry... and the compressor is sold. Price was $250 Canadian, OBO.

I have the exact same compressor. It IS 7 hp and a great compressor. I bought it new in 2005 and paid $799.00. here is a link with the pics and specs http://www.aircompressorsdirect.com/Images/IronForce-DP461500RB-Air-Compressor/i342.html

Welcome to Garage Journal!

One word of advice - check the date of the thread - this thread was over 6 years old when you resurrected it from the dead. And the compressor got sold before the OP (for 'Original Poster,' the one who starts the thread) could buy it anyways so his question is moot.

But there are some situations in which it can be beneficial to 'bump' a thread, in case anybody else has this question and comes across this. Another word of caution - linking to another website to provide information, instead of including it directly in your reply, also can be problematic, as these links can often change or go dead over time.
