Nice build!
We have a ML320 Bluetec in the family, and FYI, these engines need some extra TLC...
I am running Mobil 1 TDT 5-40 oil and change it every 3/4K miles.

I also have a Van.... its a bit like me... a little larger and a little different from the norm...
One day I will get around to finishing it...

Keyblazer,
Your van is so cool.
Did you stretch it yourself?

Royce

Nope, Im not that skilled!

I have been watching your Van build for some time, with interest, and now you know why!

The history of the Van as I know it, is thus.
It started as a 1977 B300 1 ton van.
In 1979 or so, it had a "Pathfinder 4x4" Conversion.
It was then bought by the second owner who I am told, was a Boeing Engineer, who was in a wheelchair, following a skiing accident.
This guy drove around for a few years towing a sand rail/buggy.
He then sent the van to a Limo Company in Riverside County, CA, who grafted on the extra section.
The rearmost axle is not driven currently, but I would love to figure out how to do that.
So as not to detract from Royce's thread here, I'd be happy to share more info/discuss over on my "Little Garage" Thread!

Royce...
Here is a great link to get you up to speed with some of the issues with the OM642 diesel.
Dont freak out.... just read some of the finer points about running thicker oil in warmer climates and NOT running the full MB suggested service intervals...

http://www.stephensservice.com/bluetec-diesel-issuesproblems/

This is all about the suggested 0-30 oil being to thin and "Boiling off"/ forming sludge....
Look up OM642 sludge if you want to know, and understand more too.

Thanks Keyblazer,
Neat to know the history of your van.

Thanks for the link
It was a good read.
I've never put in with long oil change intervals, especially with diesels.

Wow what a build. I’ve been watching van build videos for several years now and this is a one of a kind. Great job.
I’ll go back and read the entire thread.
