Once when I was in college, I had a full time job at Arby's, worked the 4-close shift most days. Went home after work, still amped up as I was getting my '65 Mustang ready to go to the drag strip in a few weeks, had some work to do under the car. Next thing I realize the sun is shining in my eyes as it peeks over the horizon, I had fallen asleep under the car in my Arby's uniform. Had to hurry up, get a shower and head to my 7:40 class!!

One Friday evening (after a busy work week) I fell asleep while doing some fiddling on a carburettor on my workbench. My then girlfriend (now wife) found me, hours later when she returned from her late work shift, sitting on the hocker with my hands folded on the workbench and my head on them...

With a great king size bed and naked, warm wife next to me, I have no desire to sleep in the garage.

I've never sleep out in the garage over night but I did fall asleep in the front seat of my car.

A buddy of mine bought a trailer on a nice piece of land. He proceeded to build a nice big pole building for a shop (he does autobody work). After a few years he was ready to trash the trailer and build a house.
He bought a used pop-up camper and put it in the shop, added a shower to the shop, and moved the wife and 2 kids in there for a summer while they built the house. He had a range, fridge, etc, all the comforts of home.
Honest true story.

I have a 12x20 apartment/office out in the garage with a 3/4 bathroom. my buddy lived out here after his divorce. i routinely work out in the garage to about 3am on weekends after the kids go to bed. instead of waking up everyone at that time of night, i will sometimes sleep on the couch out here. it is also a good place to sleep when the wife is mad at me. ironically it is usually for spending to much time in the garage.

I have a farm an hour from home and I built a 12 by 20 man cave with a full bath in the corner of a 40 by 60 barn. Very comfortable and a good view of the pond, only steps from bass and pike fishing.
I once (many moons ago) fell asleep at the drive-in theater. I went alone because I met friends there. I woke up in the morning and my car was the only one there. I am surprised that no one told me to leave.

Several years ago, I slept 2 nights in the shop, the S/O had "lost" her mind, was drinking, and I was basically "hiding" from her (she got violent when drunk, and I'm pretty passive). Wasn't to bad, I have camping equipment, I just set up a cot, grabbed sleeping bag... I curb checked her not too long after that. Took me a while to come to that decision, we had been together for 12 years, but things just kept getting worse.

When I was married to the x-*****.....I was almost sleeping in there more than the house....

While my new wife and new garage are magnitudes better.....about the only way I will sleep in the garage is if my wife is with me and we are both exhausted from some 'activity'....

I have to do it at least once before winter gets here just to say I did it, I guess. I now live in the same house I grew up in. When I was a kid, I used to throw a sleeping bag on the ground here in my back yard and sleep like that every night, all summer long. Sometimes with my buddies, sometimes just by myself. But I always loved doing that. Now, at 63, I guess I am just getting my youth (or my stupidity) back. I keep looking up in the trees and thinking about the treehouse I always wanted to build when I was a kid. Now, the trees that my mom planted back in the fifties are just right for doing that. Some people just never grow up I guess. I saw a show on HGTV a while back and they showed some awesome treehouses that guys had built. But it would be nice to camp out in the garage just once to see what it is like.

I have fallen asleep overnight on the floor while working. It's quite something to wake up and see a rusty car above you.:shocking:

I am currently building a garage with a tiny apartment upstairs. While I am single still I plan to live out there next summer while fix up the house.

In college our Indy car team was known to sleep in the shop...no reason to sleep over in the garage now, it's only 20ft from the house...
