Can a mounting tab be welded back on a vise?

I have a Wilton Scout that I bought from E-bay when it arrived the box looked rough. When I opened it a mounting tab was broken off could it be fixed? I will post pictures in just a minute.

Braze it would be easier and just as strong if done right for the situation.

Someone on here was able to machine a slot and then machined a new tab to precision fit and bolted it on from the bottom. his base was a good thick candidate for this repair. he didn't have the broke off piece, it looked most excellent, i got a couple bases that i need fixed and can't find that post. good luck.

It can be welded That said if, you haven't welded cast iron then its best to get someone that has experience to do it.

Lets see some pics first. Usually yes, it would probably be cheaper and easier to braze it. Depending on your access to equiptment.
