Can anyone help me ID this old Kohler engine?

I was given a highly modified garden tractor, and I can not find any identifying information on the engine. Buddy says he thinks it is an old Kohler. Has a glass settling bowl, and a cylinder fuel tank. I am hoping someone will recognize the engine or be able to give me some insight as to age, type, model, etc. I plan to see if I can get it running this summer. Thanks for any help!

Looked at old Kohler K91, K141 and K191 engines. Don't see a close resemblance. However Dura Eagle and Kirk are probably correct. Here is an old Briggs of the model they suggest.

I can't speak to the model number, others who have posted above have more expertise. In 1952 my father bought a Merry Tiller with a Briggs engine that's very similar. Cylindrical fuel tank and a wrap-the-rope starter.

If the ignition is still functioning, you are halfway home. If not, remember that most condensers are about the same other than mounting.
