Interesting. Is he sure it is original to it? Almost looks like the left side was pressed over the pin. Kind of reminds me of a Nasa / Other Mission patch drawing.

Well, I recall the Delta Rocket launch platform used for quite awhile.
Perhaps someone was just having fun with that emblem on a Delta Drill press.

i wondered if it might be just a random sticker someone put in there.
Thanks for the replies!

it looks to me like a random sticker put on. on the left side you can see how the sticker has been placed over top of the rivet. and rough cut to fit . It looks like the original plate is still underneath

It’s also interesting that the drive screws on both machines are in the same relative position. So yeah it does seem kinda Delt-ish.

Any more seller pictures? A side view of the head casting assembly.

Ask him to look for casting numbers on some parts. Under the table should be easy to spot.

I thought Delta too, but op's has five vertical ribs. Delta has four... unless they made an off-brand.
My Delta DP220 has 5 ribs..
If I remember correctly the 5 ribs denoted slow speed and 4 ribs were for high speed...

I have never seen that sticker before, but what I can tell you is that many companies copied Delta machines in the past, I guess it must have been some kind of badge of honor, because the machines were so good.

I can see a little kid coming into the garage, years ago, and saying "Daddy here's a sticker for you" and dad proudly putting on the badge of his drill press.

I know a guy that have that rocket... Maybe it's his drill press... I would be careful about approaching the seller though... **** plugs might needed if you don't wanted to be probed and don't remember being probed.
here's him riding his rocket ship/probe..

If it's an actual badge from something, could pop it off and look for stamping on back

Right side looks like the reinstalled the rivet on onto it.

Left looks like they pushed or beat it over top of the rivet head.
