First my apologies Ducksface, I was joking about your input but the wife told me what a dibble is for, planting bulbs. Well had to check it out and it is just like a dibble tool but with the blade, also a dibble is some kind of rare marsupial rodent looking thing.
The conical part is heavy brass and the blade has some circular marks along the top edge. The handle is very soft light wood.
lbgradwell - thats it! I had no idea, it has been in my tool box for years and never needed it for anything. I never knew.
Now I need to get some corks to sharpen.
But really what is a cork sharpener do? It got jammed up in one of my draws and this is what got me thinking what the hell is this thing.
