Can anyone ID this toolbox?

Hi

I picked up this toolbox for $20 on CL a few weeks ago and was hoping that someone might recognize it. It was pretty rusty, but a little sanding, primer and a few coats of Rustoleum red got it looking decent.

The drawer slides work decently, but I'd really like to get them apart for a good cleaning and lubrication. I've fiddled with them but haven't found a way to remove them short of drilling out the rivets.

It's certainly not up to the standards of some of the amazing restorations I've seen here, but it's just a spare to travel with when my son and I take our quads up to my friends place upstate and a definite improvement over the cardboard boxes we used to toss in the car!

Thanks for any assistance.

It looks like an older snapon. I would slip some really thin steel (like a feeler gauge) into the slider. Snappy makes a special tool for this.

nice score for $20

Thanks everyone. It never even occurred to me that it could be a Snap On but after the suggestion that it might be a little googling lead me to some pics that appear pretty similar.

The shape of the drawer lips looks just about right.

Knowing that it's probably not a old piece of junk, I'm a bit more motivated to see if I can get the drawers out and give the inside a good cleaning and some paint to protect it.

Thanks Adam for the suggestion about trying a feeler gauge. I'm assuming that I slip it in behind the little rivet and give the drawer a bit of a tug?
