Was my fathers - and I doubt he would have known. No markings on any parts, anywhere, other than socket size. Note 6 point drive (not compatible with anything current). Thanks!

Thanks - great info. I'll now look for remnants of a decal. I saw the bolt-and-nut repair on the set and I'm sure that was my father's repair.

Yeah - what 3baygarage posted there - it's a 1452 set.

Indestro 1451 1452 1.2 hex drive 'Handy' socket set - 1948 Indestro catalog pp 27.jpg

As shown in the 1948 Indestro catalog on page 27. Does not appear in the 1935 or the 1959 catalogs.
Somebody effected a repair to the ratchet after splitting it open applying too much torque - you'll see quite a few of them like that on Ebay. Last one I picked up off Ebay set me back a whole $7 bucks + shipping - just wait for a cheap one to show up that's in decent shape. No reason to pay a lot of money or settle for junk; there are a gazillion of those still out there.

I have two of the ratchets and bits of several sets. Some Bog sockets are here too and clearly better metal.

Never pay much for bits of those kits. I can even find that stuff in Mexico.
