Can anyone recommend a de-burring tool?

I need something for general use for home garage type projects. Are the multitude of offerings on Amazon good enough?

I got the noga one from amazon. Came with 10 extra blades. no complaints it works well, I've used it on plastics, aluminum and steel. Just have to practice using it. Too much pressure and it digs in and leaves a rough finish. Just a moderate pressure and edges come out smooth. Works great on inside holes and straight sections. For outside curves not so much it is tricky to use in that application.

+1 on the Noga. Works really well. I've never used any other type, so I can't give you any comparison.

I have used both noga and shaviv professionally, Noga is good but shaviv is awesome.

I prefer the classic handle.
The shaviv B Set with B holder is the most versatile with the B10 blades

I have a second handle with the M holder and use e100 blades for larger holes (2.5” and larger) and big edges.

A lot of the stuff on Amazon looks like no-name knock-offs of Noga and Shaviv products.
Noga and Shaviv are both good, and if you shop around a bit for price, the 'real ones' don't cost a lot more than the clones.

I bought mine specifically for metal. But find I use them often for plastic as well. Same tool... works for both for me.

Lol Pines.... My meanings were more to doing holes or sheet edges, along with steel, titanium, magnesium or aluminum or plastic.... Different methods and tools for different combinations.

Mostly holes, but certainly the occasion edge, too.

Noga. I purchased a set off McMaster for a project and was quite happy.

I like my Shaviv, but the tip falls out easily. I assume they fixed the issue in newer models.

I bought one at HD in a pinch and it fell apart on me, so not that one. I've used the Shaviv and Nogas at various jobs and they have both functioned well, mostly pulling on straight edges and holes but some curved edges as well.

Flat surface metal...Vixen curved file section glued to a wood block for finger grips. Works well for metal edges too. You can used it on curved surfaces too, but takes a little more care.

Plastics...knife blade for edges, Scotchbrite or fine sandpaper for holes.

For power deburring or anything, red Scotchbrite Roloc pads in a right angle die grinder. Very light pressure, max rpm for the pad. Too much pressure on plastic and you will melt it.

Ahhh... It's my fault... I only assume holes when deburring is discussed... But absolutely... different tools for holes vs edges vs thickness even.

Shaviv, Diagrinders, Rolocs etc... it all depends. As the O.P. noted... he is asking about holes... so Shaviv would be my first choice...

Thanks all. I ordered a Noga kit, mostly because it will actually arrive by the weekend when I'll need it. If it's not to my liking I'll order a Shaviv. But with the occasional use these will see I doubt I'll need to.
