Can anyone recommend a non-contact DC locator?

I'm looking for a non contact pen style dc voltage locator. I have several for AC voltage but need a decent one for DC as well. I find myself occasionally working on some spool coils that run on 24v DC and it's a pain in the rear using a meter and having to make contact. Anyone out there know of any decent ones?

I've never heard of one for low voltage DC. The low voltage circuit tracer I have has to be used on an inactive circuit that you attach an AC signal generator to.

Doesn't exist unfortunately. A DC clamp meter can give you some of the same function, if there's a load on the circuit.

Is everyone but me able to picture what you're working with and what you need to do, or would showing us perhaps help bring a useful suggestion?

Do they usually have the same style connector? If so a simple pigtail, female to male, with an LED might be an easier way to tell if you have signal.
