I work at a refinery i climb multiple ladders a day sometimes up to 300ft and i need a good glove to protect my money handlers. I tried the mechanics gloves but they tore and fell apart. Any have any recommendations for some good gloves? They must have palm protection that's where most of the contact is.

I use the leather palmed & fingered canvas topped common work gloves for near everything that tears up my hands. I wear them out a lot on things like concrete/masonry work, but elsewhere they hold up pretty good.

The best gloves I've found were double layer leather palm work gloves with a canvas back at Menards. I haven't found any others that held up as well as those. I think Menards is only in the north though.

The single layer on the palm gloves tend to wear out pretty quick, sometimes tearing within a day of use. The plus side is they are dirt cheap and available anywhere. In my line of work I contaminate them with hazmat so they got tossed regularly anyway. I favor cheap gloves for that reason.

I've also tried various types of all leather gloves; pigskin, goatskin, etc. Nothing impresses me too much.

Ringers looks like they have some good industrial gloves, and I've been wanting to try a pair. I just haven't seen them in a store anywhere to buy some. I'll probably order a pair at some point.

Normal mechanic's gloves tear apart too easily IME.

Some of my coworkers really like the knit gloves with latex dipped palms. I'm not impressed with those type of gloves.

These are good. I've tried several and these, while kind of ugly, are surprisingly durable. This pair is DeWalt brand but I think there are probably others. The back is stretchy knit and the black part is textured rubber. I got them at Sears.

Look up turtleskin gloves. I have used their snake chaps and was impressed with the durability. Haven't used the gloves though.

Try a pair of Tillman gloves, I've been using them for years and love them.

I agree.

I have many pairs of Tillman gloves in the goatskin fronts and expandable synthetic backs. Company issued and they wear like a champ. They are like batting gloves but industrial. Used on a production/mfg floor so they are put to the test every day.

These are the ones I use and love:

I got a pair of string knit, latex dipped gloves from either Home Depot or Lowes for yard work, etc. I couldnt be happier, they let my hands breath and give good grip. Best part is that they are cheap and easily replaced. I've had mine a year and a half now and they the latex is just starting to crack. I'll probably pick up a pair from the bin the next time I'm in the store.
