I picked up a bench grinder today for $90 and can't really find much info online about it. Just wondering if anyone knows more about these. When they were made, etc. did I get a good deal? It's looks almost brand new

You got a smoking deal. Actually, you ****!
Mind if I ask where you got it?

Oh, and that grinder was made for SnapOn by Doerr.

I'm going to guess it might be a Baldor in disguise? You might want to e-mail them about it....

I think it's a Wissota. Your specs don't make sense, suspect amps are 8.5 at 115 volt, but even that seems a little low for 1 HP. Definitely a good deal, what size wheels does it have?

I went with a friend this morning to pickup some weights for his tractor, the guy had this and a drill press in his garage said they were both for sale. Didn't pay too much attention to the drill press because I wanted this. He said he wanted $100 for it and I only had $90 on me. He took it.

Anyone know what it's worth?

I'm pretty sure it has an 8"wheel.

And yes the lights still work for the eye shields. He plugged it in for me. And it was really quiet. Running like a brand new machine

^^^I agree.

It's either not an honest 1 HP or the amperage is wrong. 3.5 amps at 115VAC is about 1/3 HP.

Makes sense that it's Wissota . . . . . and serial number suggests 1992 manufacture.

If a guy was needing a bench grinder that should make him or her very happy.

+1 its a Wissota.

If it were mine I would add a Multi Tool belt grinder adapter and have my grail grinder...
