My garage has 2X6 walls that are 14' high with sheetrock on the inside and osb and steel on the outside. I am looking at speakers and the ones I want weigh 63lbs each. Will the stud support the weight of the speaker on a heavy duty mount? Thanks....Mark

How wide are the speakers? Wouldn't it make sense to make a mount 16" wide and hang speaker off that. Do like a french cleat or something.

60 whatever lbs is no big deal.

Yeah the building is supported by the 2x6. It can hold the weight of a Speaker. If you are worried about a fastener then pre-drill a hole and use Lag Bolts for attaching the Speaker.
