If the end caps can't be used to connect the 2 fixtures together, I'd suggest using a box connector instead of a chase ******.
It will put a little bit of space between the 2 fixtures. Chase ******* pull the 2 of them tightly together and usually end up bowing the end caps, leading to other problems.
I've installed thousands of fixtures in continuous row applications.
Virtually all fluorescent strip fixture, and some wraparound fluorescents, are listed as a raceway for the lighting circuits.
