Should be Strain relief

It's electrical and it's in the garage, so I hope this qualifies. I'm replacing the busted bottom half of a trolling motor case. I didn't see the strain relief shown in the pic when I ordered parts. Can I remove this without tearing it up and then reuse it? If not I can tie an underwriter's knot but it may be too bulky. For reference, it's the cable to the battery.

I usually just pinch them with channel locks to remove them. It's pretty easy it just pinches the cord.

That's a Heyco Strain Relief Bushing... very common and very easy to remove.

Use a pair of channel locks, and squeeze the 2 half together. If you can get to the back side, it's even easier to remove.

Sent from my new phone. Autocorrect may have changed stuff.

They are also available in multiple sizes. I've had them for many years, always a pain to find them when needed but they do work well.

The cord grip itself is only 35 cents......The special plier costs $35 :bounce:

Excellent point, I picked mine up second hand for a buck or two.

If it's in good shape, I would try to use it.

I also fixed your thread title. Next time just shoot me a PM and a link to the thread. Thread titles are easy to change.

Thanks. I pushed it up free with a pair of needle nose. It kinda just fits together rather than snaps together, so I was able to re-use it.
