**disclaimer** i plan on hiring an electrician but want to get a couple basics out of the way**

I just bought a portable generator and want to get an inlet box and interlock switch installed. I am having trouble identifying what model my breaker box is but it is an eaton model. The main is on the bottom and is about an inch and a half below the lowest switches. I cannot for the life of me find an interlock switch that matches this unit.

And apart from trying to find the correct interlock kit, would I expect to have to move the closest breakers to wire in the generator breaker? Seems every kit I come across requires the generator breakers to be somewhat next to the main. Would I need to get these existing breakers moved and re-wired (i.e. the water heater or a/c)?

Pics attached for detail.

Thank you electrician gods :rocker:

Thats an Eaton CH.

Those are top of the line panels.

Should be able to find an interlock kit for it.

And yes the generator breaker will need to go in one of the spaces closest to the main.

You should have enough slack in the wires to move breakers up to open up space ajacent to the main breaker to install the breaker for the generator.
