Not really garage related, but I am wanting to change out most of the fixtures in my house to can lighting. My plan is to use the supply to the central fixtures of the rooms as my junctions to supply the can lights (either daisy chaining, or webbing out from the central juction) What I cannot find out is if I can use romex from the juction to the cans, or if I need to use BX. I do not have a copy of the NEC, but I believe since this is a single family, and the attic is not used as an open plenum, I do not need the armored cable.

Any electricans care to comment, I sure would like not to use the BX as it is harder for me to work with.

Check with a local inspector, but I don't see anything wrong with it. I see it in new construction all the time.

It's a secret......nobody wants to let anyone know where they live! Sshhhh That way, everyone has to keep asking this same question over and over again!
