Hey guys, I'm thinking about saving this poor babies life before she's smothered under a barrage of stickers. The guy who has it for sale can't tell me much and I was wondering if anyone here might know by looking what model it is so I can check the spec's. The only reason I don't go in person is he says it's an hours drive for him and it's out of my way as well. So I'd like to narrow it down a bit before going to see it in person.

Thanks!.

Thanks Chad!. I'm not a familiar at all with their box ID's, so that's a huge help. I think I'll buy it if it's not too beat up.

It is definitely a deep box, has the suspension casters, 29" deep.

Removing that many stickers will be time consuming if you are so inclined. Hopefully the price will reflect that.

...and those stickers protected the paint. Once you remove them the box might look brand new underneath!!

What's the price?

Turns out it 54.5 X 23.5 X 40 something. Not the size I was looking for but damn it, hard to turn down picking it up....

uuuuummmmmmmmmmmm, can I tell ya after I buy it

I've already decided o get it as long as it's not completely trashed. The stickers are not the end of the world, I've cleaned stickers off worse paint jobs, hopefully the paint is in decent shape.

That looks like the same box I bought through the student program a few years back for $2200 with a $400 truck credit rebate. Many are sold this way, and years later owners try to sell them for more.

I know the seller personally. Super cool dude. Take extra $ because you might want to buy other stuff he has....

Not uh, seriously?. Ya he was cool but a bit spun out.....ya know what I'm saying

Welp after much drama and several delays on getting together it's home. I was surprised to find the box in great shape, I had expected it to be beat up but other then a dollar sized dent in the back and one small corner ding it's not beat up at all. All the drawer slides obviously have never been lubed as everyone of the drawers where a bit of a battle to open but I don't think it'll be much more then a good lube job. As for the stickers, holy ****, there's stickers upon stickers. So I got my kid whipping out the high heat pressure washer today to get after it. Also the dimensions I found online were wrong for the depth, it's 28" deep which is what I wanted. :rocker:

Ain't she a beaut, whatta ya think for $740. :lol_hitti

Sounds like a great deal. KRL1001?

As far as removing the stickers, I like a heat gun and a plastic razor blade. You can use adhesive remover for anything left over.

Awesome deal for $740.

You know... after looking at the pics again, it isn't the box, or the guy, I thought it was.

The dude I'm talking about is a Union iron worker, and his box is covered in stickers too....but almost all Union ones. And he just likes his beer only.

Agree, that's a buy, but you'll be investing considerable sweat equity.

It's a very labor-intensive chore and agree, a heat gun is better than a pressure washer.

Just make sure the heat gun has a very low setting. Easy to ruin the paint with a hot gun.

A good hair dryer gets hot enough to melt the adhesive on stickers.

There are several different adhesives used on those nasty buggers and different solvents are required to cut the remaining goo.

Usually, a good rubdown with polishing compound is necessary to even out the paint.

Thanks guys. As for removing the stickers I've been down this road before. My pressure washer does one very thorough job at 200 degrees of getting everything except the worst adhesive off. Then it'll be the goo gone routine. Ya it's sweat equity, but hell that's why I have a son right??. I just can't live with the stickers. Hopefully the paint ends up ok, but I have a back up plan in the event this goes south which will probably be very cool.

I have the same box. Bought it used with a bunch of stickers on the flat drawer top and some on the outside. Not a fan of stickers, just my opinion. I think you will really enjoy it.

Well a couple hours with the pressure washer, another couple cleaning and lubing the slides. Now to just finish it up with some googone for the last of the residue aaannnddd a wax job and it should look fairly decent. The drawers are in GREAT shape, no rust anywhere and it also came with the remote drawer lock which I need to get a new fob for. It even had the writing surface and a couple of the sliding partition thinga ma bobs.

That looks like a krl7002 to me

Open the very bottom drawer on the left(the tall one) and pull it all the way out of the box. There should be a sticker on the sheetmetal on the inside you can see after u pull out that drawer

I saw the sticker as I was cleaning everything and didn't even look. But I will in a minute, I only came in for short break.

I'm almost positive it's a 7002. Same exact setup as mine. It's not a super common box. Basically a 1002 without the second skinny full width drawer
