Can someone recommend some starter air tools?

Just finished fixing up an older devilbiss 25 gal upright. It's rated at 5hp and 5.8 CFM @ 90 PSI.

Could someone recommend me a impact wrench and ratchet to start out with? I'd like to keep it budget friendly if possible.

Knowning what I know now, I wouldn't waste my money on cheap air tools, especially an impact. Cough up the $231 for an IR2135TIMax

As for air ratchets, I have a couple of Craftsman stubbies in 1/4 and 3/8 but rarely use them anymore. I use my IR2101K for 1/4 inch stuff. It's small and light and works great. I have found that if anything larger is required my 3/8 2115TIMax will usually work.

mg725 will work on low air pressure.
die grinder will work for a little bit, but the compressor will run a lot. same for an air sander

That's what I was thinking...
I got a grinder my-self, hooked up to a low cfm supply and I feel like crying every 25 seconds when I use it.

definately a 2135TiMAX or the 2115 if your looking for 3/8. There really is no comparison, these are hands down the best. I have the quiet versions as well, really like them.
For ratchets, anything IR is good. I use my 1/4 inch a lot. I think its a IR1107 or something. Very nice.

Keep an eye out for an older Craftsman, I have one that was made in Japan and it has not let me down in the 15 years I have had it.

Also keep an eye out for some not so well known brands. I picked up an Uyru for $15 at the local pawn shop. They had no idea it was an $800 tool...

Basic
filter and regulator (For clean controlled air)
Tire chucks, blow gun, (basic stuff)
IR 231 (or similar) 1/2 impact (must have) Mine is a Napa copy, #6-231
1/4 air ratchet (useful for trans pans, limited access) Mine is a compact napa branded ratchet, dont rember the PN# /3rd the size of my brothers S-O FAR25
1/4 die grinder (cleaning, grinding,deburring,ete...)
Air hammer ( I like using a hammer head bit for alot of differnt things)

Add as needed
Air drill (more compact than a electric drill)
90* air drill (nice for drilling exhaust bolts& tight spaces)
90* 1/4 die grinder (tight spaces and probably roloc disks)
cut-off tool (for cutting things)
3/8 impact (useful but 1/2 is more so, IMO. more compact)
Lincoln 1162 grease gun (best air operated grease gun available)

Honestly I'd go on eBay and get a cheap 1/4 ratchet and 1/2 impact gun. That should cover you for the time being and save you money until you are making more.
