Can someone tell what this is called and is used for?

This is a U-shaped piece of plastic (PVC? but not sure) and it's about 1"x2"x1". None of the big box stores carry it. I need several hundred feet of it but no one seems to know what it's called. Thanks,
Mike

we have something that looks similar as edging on our porch which is some sort of PVC planking, not like the new stuff. looks more like what would be used for docks. it was here when we bought the house though... but maybe try a place that deals with docks.

I would check at a place that manufactures vinyl windows. Looks like a extruded piece that they could tell ya where to get it.

I would guess that it's "extruded" and a specialty product made for the store fixture folks. You might get lucky if you have a window manufacturer (probably replacement windows) close by. They use different extruded vinyl. Also search the net for extruded vinyl, several hundred feet might be enough for an order.

U- channel is where I'd start. Then add in whatever material is it made from.

Plastic u-channel, aluminum u-channel, etc

Update: I've had some luck finding a similar item under "PVC u-channel" as a search term and have emailed some inquiries. I also stumbled across 'wire or cable raceway' and the top half of some of those products look like it might work.
Thanks again,
Mike

Ok, now out of curiosity, what are you doing with it?

As the picture shows, it's being used as an endcap for the edges of a booth divider at an antique mall. My wife and I are planning opening our own mall, and liked that idea. However, as of yet, since I can't seem to locate a source, I'm leaning on using a painted 1x3 or 1x4 as a top/cap instead. It will be MUCH cheaper and are available just about anywhere.
Thanks,
Mike
