Can wall control panels support cabinets?

I've got several gladiator cabinets ready to go up and had originally planned on mounting them with geartrack. I've also been looking at wall control pegboard and wonder if that might be a viable option to mount them. They're rated for 200lbs per panel and wall control also sells several different blank brackets that can be used to mount whatever you want.

Anyone ever mounted anything particularly heavy on them?

What is the wall constructed of? Any reason you cannot mount them to studs or CMU (not sure what other materials would be used for walls)?

2x4 construction, with 1/2" plywall sheeting and then 1/2" drywall. I'd rather not attach directly to studs so that I have some flexibility in moving around if necessary as my needs change in a tight space.
