i'm getting tired of logging in several times a day just to view pictures attatched to threads.

since we're not in a hurry to fix the logging out problem, can you guys change the settings so that i can view pictures as a guest so i don't have to keep logging back in?

I've never had issues with being logged out. Be sure that you always visit the same version. When I'm directed to a http://garagejournal.... page, it wants me to log in. All my bookmarks are set to www.garagejournal... and I'm always logged in. Maybe every 4 months a browser crash drops the cookie and I have to log in again.

I joined the forum to be able to view attached images in a tool storage thread. I imagine many others join for the same reason. Opening up the attachments for public view will a) consume server resources that Ryan pays for, and b) discourage potential members from joining.

I can't speak for the admin, but these are reasons why they probably won't grant your request.

In addition, the number of people that have log in difficulties is so small It would hardly justify the labor to make the changes.

I use Firefox and don't get logged out. I don't remember the last time I had to log in.

Same situation here, never have to log in with Firefox, just stays logged in. Its a security or cookie issue if it doesn't stay logged in.

I always had problems with Internet Explorer (kept asking me for credentials), Firefox seems to behave better.

When you log in make sure you've got that little box checked next to your name and password. I have not had to log in in months on any of my computers/laptop/phone.
