Hey guys.

I called and got a package price on the first half of a pole barn. It would be shingled roof with metal siding. No insulation, electric, floors, plumbing etc... The doors would be fully inslulated for when I would finish.

Features include 12" overhang and 12 foot walls.

I got the estimate for 2 - 12" doors but would change them to 3 - 8" doors.

Total price is $8000

Here is a crude layout of what it would look like. I would be doing the 'Clean Room' part now (36x24) and adding on the rest later.

Do you think that is too much for an Ohio shell of a pole barn?

On the surface, that appears to be a verry competitive price. Conestoga buildings would be double that for sure. I had one priced out that was similar square footage with all the bells and whistles and it came out to 3 times your base price. Go for it if you think it won't rust! -E

I can't say anyting about the price. But I would NOT go with the 8' doors. I have 3 8' doors and they are fine for the wife's RX-7 and Toyoda Peseo, but it is tight for my Ranger PU and the ford 250, not. Do yourself a favor and go with 10' doors.

Just my .02 cents

Thanks for the advise! I will definately consider it. I may go to 40x48 with the overall size to cover it. Either way, I think I am waiting until next year to build. Hopefully the price will come down even more if a lot of the Katrina mess has been cleared up.
