it looks unique with the large work platform on the back but i have almost
zero vise knowledge when it comes to identifying them.

and also,
does this look like a good vise for the price?

Not sure it's that old. The screw and locking handles looks way undersized for the overall size of the vise. If it's not stamped USA (which I'm sure he would have brought up) I'm not sure it's a better deal than a new one at HF or Sears.

well you are all correct. the seller got back to me and did say it was "likely made in china".
thanks guys, its always nice to have such a robust group of vise experts to get a gauge on quality and value.
