I've got my eye on this jack for sale, hard to say much about it other than show you guys the photos.

If this is anything like most of the jacks sold these days it's a re-branded jack built overseas but who knows. It's allegedly a 2 ton jack, you can see the comparison next to a modern slim jack.

That jack is a NORCO 71230 or 71230A if it has one piston pump. If it has two piston pumps then it is a NORCO 71232. Import, but very good jacks.

You should be able to buy a repair kit for it from :

http://www.norcoindustries.com/

Or, you may source the seals in your local hydraulic shop or online.

If it is in good, repairable condition, run to buy it.:3gears:

It uses an actual u-cup and not the cheap o-ring and o-ring retainer like cheap Chinese (and expensive OTC) jacks. Parts breakdown below.

I have been looking at that too. He dropped the price from $450 to $100 in a day after I told him it was a Norco/Canbuilt 2.25 ton jack not a 5 ton. It should be the older single pump model. I am going to take a look at it too.

I **** you not! He said that new 5 ton jacks were in the thousands range so he wants half! Then I showed him the original ad from the company that rebranded it and he dropped it to $400, then $350, then $125 and finally $100. I bet you that isn't his final price either LOL.

$40 or $50 might be closer to a real price for the older model, more so if it needs repair.

Managed to get it down to $80, decent condition, a tad greasy but no leaks. Could use a good oiling for the casters and the main wheels. Other than that it jacks up beautifully!

Bummer, well if you decide to sell it let me know.

Technically it's not actually mine, I picked it up for my buddy. I'll see what he says, tore into it tonight and found that the rear swivelling casters are shot. The races were worn so most of the bearings escaped on one caster. Good thing I can still buy new casters for it, think we may be going for that. Overall it's at 80% of new, just lots of grease and a tad but of surface rust. The handle has crazy thick walls, just like my Walker. I think I'll be wirewheeling the saddle and the front casters and drain/refill the cylinder.

Hiball, how can you tell it's not a Lincoln, but an import instead?
I'm not questioning you, but it sure had me fooled.

Colour scheme maybe? IIRC the Snap On jacks have the model and warnings painted on. I know exactly what it was because I was looking at this exact jack for my friend. We were going to buy new lol. Then this popped up.

The rebranded Snap On's use an universal joint for the release. The Norco 71230 uses a gear type release. Easy to spot if you look at the handle yoke or holder, but of course, you need to know of that difference in advance. Also, the top flange on the Lincoln's, Hein Werner's, Snap O's is straight. The Norco flange is not a straight line but it has a slight turn along its length.

To make things more interesting, there is a company called PROJACKS that makes a jack that is very similar to the Hein Werner. The difference in the body is that the flange has less width. Also, the pump looks the same as the Hein Werners. However the Projacks pump has some internal differences. It uses the cheaper o-ring and o-ring retainer instead of an u-cup. On the good side, it has seals for the oil tank (both ends) and it also has a sealing washer for the cylinder. The Lincoln, Hein Werners do not have seals for the oil tank nor for the cylinder, requiring that these be tightened to higher torque values to prevent leaks.

Shinn Fu also made a Blackhawk BH 6020 floor jack which was the same as the Hein Werner 93642 but it was made in China. It was red in color.

Thanks EDGAR, I think I have one labeled as Western Auto, based on the other description of using a gear for the release. I got mine at a garage sale for $50 and works great.

When you have torn down as many of them as I have the differences are quite easy to spot, as already mentioned the release mechanism/frame was a dead giveaway based off the limited pictures. In Lincoln's hay day (prior to shinn fu) they where selling the design to many different brands with subtle changes, Blackhawk at the time was searching to fill voids in there catalog which is why you see weaver and Lincoln in blackhawk color schemes, Lincoln compared to walker was very good at marketing there product line.

Ya-700 Should be Oem'd walker/Lincoln/HW with the exception of the "c" series in which I believe is a import. A picture will be more helpful, you can send it in a PM if it's a auction/Cl ad your wanting to keep hush/ hush .
