Can you identify this vice?

I got this vice a few years back. (First pic) Very heavy. 75 lbs. to be exact. It was painted over with an old lead paint and I see no markings on it at all indicating anything.

The other day I ran across an old eBay posting that appears to be the exact same vice. But it was not the star of the auction. It was the welding table it was attached to. There was also no mention of make/model of the vice. I saved the photos and have them shown below too.

My question is not only what is it, but is it worth blasting clean? My gut says yes. But I'm just not sure.

Any help appreciated.

Chinese rotator vise. Your call whether you want to repaint or not.

I'd use it for welding vise and pound away as needed. If it breaks, no big monetary loss as you can buy another for less than $100 on CL.

Odds are that it is an Asian import. That said they can be a good vise to use.

Usually those style vises are a not so fine piece of china, there are/were some US made in that style (Yost?). Hard to say what it is with the paint. It does look old though.

As said, probably asian made, I had one in the 90's, and it was a great user vise. Might not be the quality and durability of a classic US vise, but worked extremely well. Not sure when or why I got rid of it, but I'd buy and use another again if I didn't have several US ones that do all the functions of that vise now.

When someone doesn't care to put their name on it, it usually says a lot.

Thanks for the help!

The thick paint used to smooth out the rough casting leads me to think its a cheapo import.
That style of vise is widely produced my many Chinese companies and sold under many different brand names.
