Can you see other's avatars? If not, check the box in the User CP under "thread display options" to show avatars. Or edit your avatar.

Try going to User CP on the top menu, then Edit Avatar. See if the Do Not Use an Avatar selection is checked. If checked, uncheck and save changes.
