Looks like they forgot the most important (to me) bits.....Robertson.

Ha, I'm the opposite - I love that it includes Torx instead, since those are infinitely more useful to me for the fasteners I usually work with. Too bad the Hex bits are SAE and not metric.

That said, I got the 5-handle PicQuic anniversary set and much prefer how it holds the bits in plain sight in the handle instead of the huge pouch that this includes.

I suppose I didn’t need another screwdriver, but I’m still disappointed my store was out of stock today. They had those Protos Lon Friday…

Just order online, that's what I do. They'll look from St. John's to Victoria to find it for you, at very minimal cost. I waited too long and missed out on those Titan wrenches (extra long combos) above. I ordered twice, while you could, but both orders were cancelled. I had two sets on order and the shipping was less than $6........cannot drive to my store for that.

I picked up several Gorilla puck locks for $18 each in the surplus. As good a price as I could find on Amazon and much easier return policy imo. Look on the side of the lock for a matching 5 digit number for matching keys.Screenshot_20260331-121211.png

They have the extra long 3pc power torque branded double box end set, SAE only, on clearance $9.01

I picked up a set. The hand feel is like my 90's era extra long snapon slim, with the "sharp" edge vs the fully smoothed typical snapon. Broaching is nice, surprisingly good fit and the chrome is consistant end to end. How they will hold up is anybodys guess but since I only am wanting an extra long randomnly I figured I'll take a chance.

From what I see at my local store, if its down to the last one or two, theres a good chance it may not exist. Seems to be the unaccounted for shop lifted item.

Employees take whatever they touch first. Not like we might look for the unopened/sealed box, the undamaged box, the best looking etc.
I ran mine today - works great!

The serial number shows a 2024 build date. That seems pretty fresh to me. I imagine a saw is first sold new - maybe not immediately. Then returned for a factory refurbished. Presumably, even if PA was their first point of sale (unlikely - more likely they grabbed some overstock for this deal), they were around for awhile to go on clearance. I.e. 2024 seems totally reasonable to me.

1000006974.jpg

The saw had good power and was responsive. The idle seems a little low, but I was running 40:1 canned fuel (it calls for 50:1), so maybe that had something to do with it.

No issues with the saw otherwise. I can see some scratches on the plastic, oil by where the bar mounts and the fuel tank obviously had fuel before - you can tell it's used. The bar and chain looked new.

1000006977.jpg

1000006979.jpg

I found it heavier and more awkward than my Flexvolt saw. Using it for bucking logs and felling small trees - no problem. Removing branches and trimming - kinda tiring in comparison.

I'm totally happy with it at this price.

I was checking out some clearance stuff on PAs website and ordered a couple of things.

16 piece set of angle wrenches on clearance for $33. I have a set of the SAE at work and while you don't use them much, they sure come in handy sometimes.

USA made husky screwdriver set for $10. I don't really need more drivers, but I couldn't not buy them.

I don't know if it's a DEAL, but I spotted these on Marketplace and though you all might be a good audience to appreciate it. I would absolutely rock a pair of these if they came in my size. :ROFLMAO:

When did this happen??

message sent as I heading to Calgary on the 16th. I‘d rock those! Been looking at white Adidas at Costco anyways for my upcoming conventions.
Refurbished Husqvarna 440 for $167.71 (clearance). I think that's online-only, but it's eligible for PA's free shipping. Seems like these are >$450 new. I might be cautious if I didn't live where I could simply return it to PA if I was unhappy, but that's a damn good price for a 440.

Good deal on those screw drivers, but again, no Robertsons.

Looks interesting to check out.
For anyone that is interested in the SK 7 pc X-Frame set, Princess Auto has them on clearance for $70.93. They are showing ony 8 sets left online. I bought this set when it was already reduced to $78.**. I find them nice. Very smooth and close to zero back drag. Comes in a nice foam organizer

I was eyeballing those too, decided I didn't need more ratchet wrenches though. I've been hoping they sell out so I don't order a set after too many beers.

It's not like I need a special reason to buy tools, but when do those angled wrenches get used?

Hydraulic hoses were my most common use at work. They're not a common item to use, but when nothing else will fit, you'll be glad to have them. They aren't something I was willing to spend much one because of this, but at $30, they'll pay for themselves the first time I need one.

Pocket screw jig for $25 at Princess

I think it is actually nicer than the Kreg jig that sells for over twice that price. The depth adjust is a push button, rather than the Kreg flex-the-plastic.

If you aren’t in to woodworking, this is actually a great woodworking tool to own. My brother and I have used his Kreg a lot. It’s a really easy way to put a lot of things together. And if you aren’t in to woodworking you don’t need me to say it’s useful to have in the shop.

Also - related tip. Pick up the Irwin T15x6” bit also on clearance. That will allow you to use GRK cabinet head screws rather than the Kreg pocket screws. Better yet, pick up 2 or 3 bits.

I ordered that 16 piece set of screwdrivers and you cannot go wrong with the quality and assortment. No indication of where they were made, I suspect China. That is left off everywhere. For $10 you cannot do better.

$9.98 (down from $19.98) with free delivery for me in the GTA. Keep in mind, it's advertised as having a 5-blade storage capacity, but only includes one. Also, I'm used to the Olfa-style box cutters with the long blades that you break off a section to get to a sharp one. These use short double-ended blades that you turn around. But the grip is a lot better and the knife frame more sturdy for cutting though tougher materials.

At my local PA there was a Starrett folding wood ruler for ~$13 (in-store special) in the surplus section. I'm pretty sure it's this one from the website, but I can't be sure because there's no branding visible in the online photos. If you're interested, it might be worth checking your local inventory online.

I very nearly bought it because well, Starrett. Then I considered that I already own a folding ruler and I don't recall ever using it... that was enough to change my mind even though this one seems to be a "deal".

My brother really likes the folding wood rulers. He gave me one of his. But I haven’t remembered to ask why he likes them or for what job. So i haven’t tried mine, either.

First time I've seen the limitation on regular priced items. Still better than nothing, especially on something that doesn't usually go on sale.

That is kind of a curious one. I'd rather have the option than not though.

Speaking of narrow coupon offers, Lee Valley has this:

ONLINE: Between now and May 31, 2026, when you make an online purchase of $50 or more (before taxes), you will receive a promo code for $25 off your next purchase of $100 or more, excluding taxes. This voucher code will be emailed to you within two business days of purchase and is redeemable between June 1 and 30, 2026.
Details here.

Because there are so many caveats and provisos, I think it could be reasonable to make a purchase you were already considering, but probably not worth buying something you wouldn't otherwise. Even if you activate the offer, you have to remember to spend $100 or more the next month - pretty easy to forget or to not having anything else you need next month.

I don't like that style of coupon regardless... How much value do you assign it? Sure, it's 25% off a purchase of $100, but then it counts for nothing on your current buy, or what if you spend $150?

This one will be very location specific, looks like only a handfull of stores still have stock and in typically Canadian Tire fashion, clearance prices are left up to the individual store.
If you are in the London area and are looking for a basic old school style electricians tool pouch (no belt included), $12.97 on clearance. 10+ left at the London West store.

This site can help find alternate locations and inventory. Not 100% accurate, but is well-regarded, and it has served me well:

Princess Auto's Plier Wrench is on sale. That's the first time since they came out, as far as I know. All three sizes.

I'm going to try them. I see the reviews are mostly positive. I've handled them in-store and the handles are nice, but it's hard to get a feel for the mechanism when the head is encased in a plastic cover.
Looking forward to your review.

I had handled them, and looked at the specs. Iirc, they are a tad heavier than Knipex, and not quite as tight, but seemed decent. 95% of the tool for 35% of the price ain’t bad - if that impression holds with use.

I must have skipped over those when I went through the sale items. I have a Knipex set, but might be worth getting the PA ones for in the house. I'm terrible at guessing a fasteners size, so these things are great to avoid having to haul a whole set of tools to do a job or having to make 4 trips to finally get the right size wrench

Great link! Sure beats selecting individual store locations to see what the price is.

Looking forward to it, I was thinking of picking up the middle sized one. I might have to do that anyway tommorow. =-)

Speaking of pliers wrenches, the Workpro mini pliers wrench and Cobra knock-offs are $34 on Amazon.

81zoj8csbrL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

Not a "sale" as far as I'm aware, but it seems like a good price since the pliers are ~$19 and the pliers wrench $23 separately (plus you get a pouch). I bought the mini pliers ages ago and I think they're actually pretty good. I have the Cobra XS too - and there is no denying they are better, but not really 250% better like the price disparity suggests.

I don't know if the pliers wrench is just as competent, but I ordered the combo to find out. I figured for $12 I wouldn't mind an extra pair of the mini pliers to stick in my desk drawer.

Interested to hear how they feel when they arrive. For work I can justify knipex but for home something cheaper will do
