If anyone is looking for a shop press for occasional use, at $189 this may be worth looking at, going on sale this week:

Also, I consider inexpensive step drills an essential to keep in my drill bag. Fantastic for deburring, more rigid for starting holes, and I’ll admit to sometimes misusing them on stainless or thicker material but that’s why a few cheapies are good to have around to get you out of a pinch. $7 is pretty good for that use.

That’s the press I just returned. If you buy it, check that the “ram” post is welded on plumb to the plate before assembling the rest of it like I did. I didn't think it would make much difference, but it did. Instead, I'd recommend the 10-ton from post #332 that's now on clearance for only $25 difference if you don't need the height:

A couple of years ago Lowe’s I bought the 35’ on sale. I like mine when I remember where I put the damn thing. I use it a lot outside nice not have to pull a tape through the dirt/mud. Handy for finding the centre and not having to get off the ladder. If I could do it all over I would have bought your model or higher.

looking for a good deal on the Milwaukee 2127-20 currently kms has it for 50 off so its 249.00 here in BC
This seems like the regular price elsewhere. Can't currently see any deals on them. I think Edmonton fasteners has a buy 2 Milwaukee products and get 7% off, but have a look.

As a secondary - you guys see any deals on the 2727-21HD (Chainsaw Kit) lately ? Any flyers that might not be online ? (I'm in BC too)

Canadian Tire clearance on a couple Channellocks;
19.93 for the 357 end nippers, 12.93 for the 426's.

And the small CTC tap & die set for $9.93 (both the sae and metric set. 5 sizes in a set). Probably been on clearance for a while as stock is zero at a lot of stores.

Haha, so...just after posting this I found a random Home Hardware (https://lacretehomehardware.ca/milwaukee-2727-21hd-chainsaw-kit) that had the kit for 549.99 and Home depot BC somehow matched (and beat!) The price by going through self-checkoutt so I got it for. 495 + tax.

Although I know it's been lower in the past the sales certainly seem less frequent and as like everything prices have gone up.

Locking flex ratchets anyone? It's a hell of a deal. I have two more 1/4" on the way and already own one and a 3/8"

1/4" https://www.princessauto.com/en/1-4-in-dr-flex-head-ratchet/product/PA0008594590

3/8" https://www.princessauto.com/en/3-8-in-dr-flex-head-ratchet/product/PA0008594640

1/2" https://www.princessauto.com/en/1-2-in-dr-flex-head-ratchet/product/PA0008594657

I would say they're the same as these Carlyle minus the comfort grip.

I have a couple of the 1/4 and 3/8 ones and they are great I have never broke one.
they are the same as the Tone ratchets and I actually used the Tone 3/8 compact rebuild kit in the princess auto 1/4 ratchet to make a long, locking flex head 1/4 body 3/8 drive ratchet. check my post history for photos!

Looks like the 1/4 is already out of stock and not in any store's near me. Going to order the 3/8 and 1/2 then see if the 1/4 shows up again and do your trick @Bmxkelowna

I really like that idea! Can you link your post? Yes, I'm being lazy lol

Keep an eye out, these things go in and out of stock like crazy. It took me 4 tries to get the 3/8" It said they had they available online only, I would place an order and they would cancel it. I finally got one on attempt #4

ETA really neat info about the TONE. I knew I liked these for a reason!

And...they canceled my order again on the 1/4 It's pulled down from the site now. We'll see if it goes up again.

All kinds of stuff on 50%ish off at Crappy, but these really caught my eye. I didnt buy, because, well I need more ratchets like a hole in the head  but kinda cool to see CT getting into the Hi-Viz game. Definitely a new item for sure. Pn 058-0466-6

They also had the extra long DBE flexhead Gearwrenches on for half off, $149. Im pretty sure the wife got me those for xmas :) She told me to get lost so she could shop for a while lol

Those XL wrenches are sweet. I've got the non-flex version and they're fantastic if something gets stuck - plus ratcheting means it's not as slow as trying to turn a fastener with a long-handled regular wrench.

If you can hold out to boxing day and spend $200+ you'll get 12%(triangle card) or 20%(CT MasterCard) back in Canadian tire money plus any personal bonus off of the app you get

A couple Xmas gifts I got that are still on sale.

The long ratchet wrenches like I suspected above.

And a Maximum 1/4" inlb Torque Wrench. Ive had really good luck with CT torque wrenches over the years. I guess they were $69 or so at the time (half off), now theyre back to regular price $140.

As a follow up to this, I have had an older inch-lb Maximum for near a decade and works great, calibration is still on.

The digital 3/8" Maximum I picked up on the other hand is dead just outside the 1 year I had it. Going to see if I can fix/get it fixed but utterly unimpressed by it.

Too bad about the digital. Generally speaking I avoid anything "Electronic" or Electric with Mastercraft on the label. Same goes for Powerfist. I have no faith in their electrical tools.

Home Depot's Oakville/Cross Avenue location has this Husky 30 Gal. 175 PSI Oil Lubed Belt Drive Compressor for $399 down from $999. Last night someone posted a pic showing the clearance sticker with the $399 price, but today when I called before going, they said the price on the box is $799 but it still rings up as $399. So I went to get one. There were about 4 left after I got mine. None of them had the clearance price on them, so maybe they're fixing a pricing error. May be worth it if you're close by and need one.

This is the model from their US site for reference:

I think it's a huge clearance there.
I’d noted, too. With Lowe’s selling off its Canadian stores, I wonder how much of that is due to trying to get dead stock off the books and move to the new strategy as the new ownership takes over?

I’d sure like to see Rona on its game. Some of their issues went back before Lowe’s purchase, but Lowe’s didn’t really make them better…

Hi everyone! Just to share with you that Rona has good deals online now. Too many to mention but some Craftsman drills, Dewalt, Bosch, Craftsman, Freud blades for sawzall at more than 50% off. Bits, water pumps, Greenwork batteries... I think it's a huge clearance there.
Thanks, I took you up on your RONA suggestion and placed a couple of orders. A couple of things I found weird....pick-up at store only and they only search the contents of "MY STORE" for your order, no others apparently. This is one item they could not deliver on, despite showing four available.

I contrast this with both PAL and Grainger. You place an order and they search their whole Canada wide store network and ship from there for a modest $10 (total) shipping charge in most cases.

Additionally check out Staples and Walmart ( searh lathe accessories, if you have a lathe). You will be pleasantly surprised....W'mart even has free shipping for any amount.
