I live in Calgary, Alberta (Canada), and I've been looking at the great examples of shops, big and small, for a while now. I've been saving up for years, but I'm still renting a place... but it has a "oversize" 2 car garage (24 wide by 22' depth, 8' ceilings). I put "oversize" in quotes because it barely fits my Ford Ranger.
In high school and university, I worked at an extremely well equipped 200' x 60' autobody shop, so I have a skewed idea of what an 'ideal' shop should be.... but since I live in Calgary now, I have to make the most of what I can afford (300K is entry level).
So for now, I'm going to sit back and marvel at the shops and garages that are discussed here, and plan for when it's my time to have a place of my own. Lots of great shops and ideas here.
