I've been lurking here for some time now and thought I should introduce myself. I found the place through the HAMB.

I'm a hot rodder living in the small town of Neepawa, MB, where we have a 100 y/o house with a very small garage. Luckily we have a fairly large lot so we plan to build a second garage once we can afford it.

Thanks for the tip, -olllllllo-, I'll check out the ads to see if I can find it. If you drive through town on Hwy 16, you drive right past our place. Wave as ya go by! :p

tatra...My wife and I went on Saturday. Lots of cool stuff to see, I just can't stand how narrow the aisles are. It got way too crowded for my liking. It was so bad I couldn't take pics of anything. :( On the plus, seeing the Atomic Punk made the trip worthwhile. I'd love to build something like that some day.

I was impressed with most of the vehicles, but I can't figure out why Canad Inns needed a 20 x 20 spot just to have a TV set up. And do they really need someone selling cheap-*** sunglasses? C'mon already...stick to automotive related vendors. It's supposed to be a car show! Ok, rant over. LOL

Bevvys somewhere would be cool. We don't get in to the city often, but will try to hit at least a couple of events this year. The Essex will be off the road for part of the summer so I don't know what events we'll attend. Anyone passing through Neepawa is welcome to drop by for coffee or something. We have tons of parking and we're right on the highway so we're easy to find. Check my album out for a pic of the house.

A few more. This was the only car at the show that I was willing to wait around for the crowd to clear so I could get pics.

Thanks! We wanted an old heritage type home and we fell in love with this place.

Btw...I think travellers are the only people who eat at the McD's here. We've been there twice in the past 15 months, and the service sucked both times. If you have time and want good food, try the Chicken Corral restaurant next door. Great service and good home-cooked type meals.

the truck stop was an old favourite of the wife's parents. breaker 16 or 19, whichever, was pretty good back a few years.

McD's was drive thru, but yeah the service even sucked at that. not to mention the crappy food, lol.

Hmmmm...don't recall that place. Mind you, we've only been here a little over a year.

One day we sat in the drive thru in the Essex watching the water temp climb to over 250 degrees. We were the only ones there and it took over 20 minutes to get us a Big Mac and Quarter Pounder meals. Haven't been back since.

Talked to some locals last night...the Breaker 16 truck stop was just east of town about 2 miles. Apparently it was condemned and torn down. Brahma's Restaurant & truck stop is there now. We haven't eaten there yet but I've heard the food is ok.

At the top of the page, under the "Garage Journal" logo, you'll find a button to "community". Click that, it will take you to a list of the available communities.

Thanks Mike! I'll keep an eye out for you. If I still had my Sporty I'd go riding with ya, but MPI wanted way too much for insurance so I sold it. :(

-olllllllo-...that's because so many of us practically live in our garages all winter! I will too, once I get it insulated and heated.

Howdy Ron! The only person I know in Brookdale is Darcy, the owner of the Piston Ring store in Neepawa. He's got a cool chopped Model A sedan.

Well it s a small world on the net, We would always drive by the Breaker 16 on the way home looked like a neat place to me but not to my wife. We would eat at the Bamboo as far back when it had the booths in the middle, and Bert and Ernie were in the windows across the street.
Cheers Ron.

The Bamboo still has good food. For a small town we have some pretty decent restaurants.
