This show caught my eye this morning. I haven't had the opportunity to see it yet, but I'm sure it should be interesting.
I googled the show and to my surprise, it's about a car restor place called the Guild of Automotive Restoration. Run by David Grainger, a colorful gentleman in Ontario.
These guys work on some seriously awesome projects and are very gifted craftsmen.
I'm happy to see they at still at it after all these years.
Tribute to there skills.
Can't wait to see the show.
For what it's worth, have a close look at there English wheel. Notice how much it resembles mine. Only, mine is the deluxe model.:)
I built Dave's wheel over 20 years ago and 10 years later improved the design on mine a little when I built it.
It's a small world out there.

I've seen the show twice. It was the same episode each time and I think it may be the only one they made. It was very well done and I hope there are more coming.

I live a few miles from their shop in Bradford and drive by it at least twice a week. There's always something interesting sitting out front.

NASTYZEN - If you built their English Wheel about 20 years ago that must have been when they were at their old shop at Woodbine Ave. and Herald Rd. The few times I was there they would let you wander around and see what they were working on. That changed when they moved to their much bigger current shop about 15 years ago. Can't blame them.

Yes, they only shot the pilot. I don't think it was picked up. Too bad. They probably should have called it something else, Discovery or History (US) might have bought it.

Caught a bit of it today for the first time, looked interesting. Almost pee'd my pants when the guy started a magnesium fire and his buddy took the part to the sink to put it out... :shocking:

Hello all!
The show has finally started to air on History channel. But they changed the name to Restoration Garage.
I noticed that the made in Canada sticker is still on the wheel after all this time.:thumbup:
For those wondering, the paint is Canadian Tire Blue.:)
I'll dig up some old photo's of the thing, I know I have some somewhere.

Not quite the same but about 25 years ago I bought a 1936 MG TA that didn't have a title. It was a total basket case and included major parts from a few different cars. I did have a chassis number and an engine number. I had a bill of sale from the previous owner that was clear about what it was. I went to a lawyer and swore an affidavit as to what I understood the car was and it also included something about me not being a crook (... that was the hard part - ;)).

I took that to the MTO along with some photos and didn't know what to expect. Once I got to the counter I was out in less than 10 minutes with an ownership. I was happily shocked.

Watched the show tonight.
I will record every show for sure, very interesting.

If they built a multimillion bucks magnesium Buggati prototype, they will find a way to title it.

I watched it last night too. It was very well done and had lots of shots of a neighbourhood I am very familiar with. It also had lots of shots of NASTY's English wheel! :thumbup:

I remember reading about the female mechanic they had (Vanessa?) and the company she started a few years back called Ms. Lube. I thought at the time there was no way that Mr. Lube was going to let that slide (grease joke - :lol:) and they didn't. She seemed like a good person and even though the show is new will be missed.

Some shot his head is shaved clean and others he has long hair...

I just watched another show today, I'm curious, they rebuilded a 67 Camaro, the old body was too far gone and they rebodied the car with a Dynacorn new body.
wonder how they managed to do this, did they transfer the VIN plate to the new body and plate it?
