Congrats on your new ratchet. Maybe I'm not in the loop but that is a price I didn't expect to see. Good for you then.

You ****. lol. I bought one in 99 or so at an auction. Was in a box lot of misc. tools for $29 or so. Sadly on the top next to the direction selector it has a big grinder mark. Makes it a great user though. Best ratchet ever for spark plugs. You can't overtighten a plug with these.

Wow, those used to go for $200+. I guess that everyone that wants one has one. Now they will all be cheap!

Congratulations! You can bag a good one off of ebay occationally, you have to check it religiously and be prepared to get outbid a lot!

Congratulations on a good buy! (even though I still think those look like and old car window crank, but that's just me so pay me no heed!)

Not everyone got the memo that the prices are coming down.

That one's been listed a few times before with a reserve that was never reached. There was at least one about 3 weeks ago that hit $100, but most of the others (the ones' I've seen anyway) over the last few months have been hovering around the $60-70 range. That's why I was surprised I'd actually won it at $41 - figured it had at least another $20 to go, which would've been well above my (cheap-@*s) limit.

It's been my (not-so) humble opinion that these speed-ratchets have been way over-rated rarity-wise despite only being offered for a few years - I've typically found at least couple listed at any particular time, and (until recently) they usually pulled high bids around the $100 mark or higher. Like an earlier post said, the deep pockets have likely satisfied their needs, so now the prices are dropping, at least for now...

It's a neat little ratchet that'll keep my Herbrand speed-ratchet company.
