I don't think there's a restriction on new users & abilty to post pictures. Posts like that often go into an approval que for approval .
I can't think of anything , other than maybe too large a picture or not a recognized file extension, but with the latter I see an error message
try downsizing your pictures maybe.

thank you, have just successfully added a photo here although I'm at work on a windows machine, I'll head over to the testing forum and see if I can work out if it's file size or Mac related, at least I know my profile is not the problem

just downloaded one of my photos to my computer at work and it uploaded to the forum no problems, which only leaves my Mac at home being the issue
any reports on Mac being an issue ?

lol, I work at an auto dealership and that photo had been taken for warranty reasons, first photo I found

Update that may help others
In the testing section of the forum another member posted about resizing photos to overcome his trouble, I have just tested a few after resizing to 800 x 600 and it appears to be working well.
My photos are taken with a Google Pixel 7 and the camera is extremely good on it, perhaps the photos are too large for the forum ( they come in around 6 mb)

I typically take pics with my Samsung S21 and they are 2.5 to 3.5 mb. Big enough and sharp enough for GJ post.

I reduced the camera setting so they wouldn't be exceedingly large.
