Does anyone know what is the difference between this one and Capri's 'Advanced Series'? They seem identical to my eyes.

Also in general, how to catch this kind of deals with a big red % reduction?

The advanced series is the second generation of Capri's bit sockets. According to their website, they use an "Advanced" heat treatment on the S2 steel bit making it stronger and providing you with high performance. Now I don't know how true that is but, I really like all of the Capri bit sockets I have and they are a great bang for the buck.

Heck yeah, I bit for $36 too. I realized that I don't have any of the larger 1/2" drive sizes. I think I'll sell or put away some of my odds and ends for the smaller sizes and replace them with this set. Thanks!

Is it me, or are the Capri bits a tad stubby? Is that intentional? There's certainly times when I could use a shorter bit, just curious.

I picked up 2 for about $21, sold directly from Amazon and not a 3rd party seller. Amazon has price bots that alter price on what they find on the internet in order to drive away business from others sites (some are small businesses)....the bot must have caught wind of a fake site and over lowered. I couldn't feel less guilty.

Correction - I was able to order by opening a new window in private mode and adding to the cart there. Added a warehouse wrench that had been sitting on my list for a while to hit just over $25 (nice coincidence) for free shipping.

Then logged in and straight to checkout - it worked well.

Thanks, PlantItDeep, the in private mode worked for me as well. Should arrive in Feb, but for the price, that isn't a concern for me as I've got most of these already, but having them all in one box will be nice

I try the in private mode again and am now seeing $26.** instead of the $10 I saw earlier. Could be the Amazon algorithm just bumped the price up one some were ordered.

Good job buis!!!!!

Thanks a lot for the contribution from @nicks78camaro, I bought the hex set at this incredible price. Thanks to the contribution from @ludakris04 , I bought the torx set too. Thanks a lot to my good luck and Amazon's generosity, the set I bought can still be returned and I have returned it and got the money back in gift card.

This is the ultimate way we work together. First, someone like me posts a lukewarm deal. Others wait and watch and come up with a much, much better one. Let's keep doing this in 2022 and keep milking Amazon as much as possible! Best part is that doing this to Amazon makes me happy instead of guilty. I am sure Mr. Bezos can spare a few dollars from his trillion dollar coffer to cheer up a few tool guys!

Finally, I LOVE crazy bots. Merry Christmas to y'all.

They are stubby. I’d venture to say that is intentional because they are true to size the entire bit and because they are a mixed drive set. I got their Black Friday bit socket rail deal and I enjoy them. The stubby size has actually worked better for me at work.

The hex bit and socket OAL is generally comparable to Tekton, but a lot of the Capri sockets are taller, making the bit protrusion slightly shorter. I didn't need them but bought the Capri a while back when they had a 50% off sale or similar. I figured they'd be the same as Tekton less the stamping, but no, they're all different. Same with VIM being unique. IIRC, in the larger sizes, the VIM bits are slightly longer than Tekton and Capri.

i have these too, pretty solid set from my super limited use BUT i hate how the set is divided into 1/" 3/8" and 1/2" drive sockets. I'm constantly running back to my box to get a different driver or socket adapter... I'm gonna get up replacing these with a tekton set since they have a "wider range" sizes with the same size socket drive

Got mine yesterday, overall for $11 and made in Taiwan I'm pleased. I may never find a use for a 19mm hex, but at least I have it!
